Living History Show - Fremont, Ohio

Annual Living History Trade Fair
(usually)
Saturday, 9 to 5
Sunday, 9 to 3
First full weekend of February

at Sandusky County
Fairgrounds
Fremont, Ohio
The annual Living History Show takes place at the Sandusky Co Fairgrounds.   The event consists of two buildings full of vendors and craftsmen selling 18th and 19th century crafts and clothing reproductions.   The show draws military re-enactors, buckskinners, blackpowder shooters, and museum volunteers from a three state area.
The craftsmen are from approximately 11 different states and are recognized experts in their fields.  and include gunsmiths, pottery, spinning, powder horn engraving, and blacksmithing to name just a few of the crafts represented. Re-enactor units will have tables for recruiting new members.
Northwest Ohio museums and living history enthusiasts use this weekend as a “kick-off “ for the events to come during the year. They pass out information on up coming museum exhibits, workshops, and battle reenactments. The living history participants use the event as a time to catch up with friends they haven’t seen since last summer’s events and plan new historic encampments for next summer.
The public is invited to attend. Admission is charged.   The Show is sponsored by Smoke and Fire Co of Waterville, Ohio   (419-878-8535)  and Smiling Fox Forge of Fremont, Ohio. 419-334-8180.
